The course covers approximately 7.1 miles of mixed terrain. The start is a 10-15 minute walk from the Monmouth School Sports Club which also serves as the race HQ and the finish. The course starts out flat for around 100 metres before climbing the Kymin road to the Round House, a local viewpoint at around 850ft. The opening mile or so will certainly give your lungs a workout. What goes up must come down and a gentle descent through fields and the bluebell carpeted forest tracks before a long flat finish along the Hadnock Road into the Monmouth School Sports Club.
The previous course record is 38mins 54secs, set by P. Wheeler in 1985.
New course record is 44mins 01secs, set by Luke James in 2013.
